La Sophia Restaurant (Notting Hill, London, by cecilldn)

5 Points out of 5

We were a group of 29 in the private dining area down stairs in late April celebrating my 40th birthday. The manager was very accommodating from the start. We agreed on a set menu how the night would plan. Everything turned out excellent better than expected. The food was incredible, cooked perfect and real yum, no delays. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Drinks were always poured, food was on time and the best part of it all is we didn’t have to worry for a second and enjoy our evening. They even extended the licence for us to enjoy until 2am at no extra charge! Thank you

Generally good food but, the salmon always seems to be slightly luke-warm and taste a bit odd to me (it’s fresh but, somehow not very nice). Atmosphere and interior are good.

Retro Clothing (Notting Hill, London, by raistlyn)

3 Points out of 5

In spite of the large size of the shop, nothing much really stood out the few times I’ve browsed the racks. Yes, it’s fairly neatly laid out with clothes vaguely organised by colour, but the range isn’t really great. Fair enough, it advertises itself as a retro store more than a vintage one, but, still, with clothing primarily from Karen Millen and Almost Famous, I’d still think this place is misrepresenting itself.

If you’re looking for proper, fairly decent quality retro/second-hand/possibly vintage, you should take a short walk to Pembridge Road where a much better selection of shops can be found.

Portobello Green Beauty Room (Notting Hill, London, by happy_chick2000)

5 Points out of 5

Just went for a Hollywood wax with Jenny Lee and was very, very impressed. Initial expectations weren’t honestly that high as I had purchased an incredibly cheap deal, but she was fantastic! This kind of treatment can obviously be somewhat awkward, but I felt instantly at ease- the treatment itself was as painless as this type of thing can be, and possibly the best bikini wax I have ever had-no redness, no missed bits and as I said minimal pain. All in all an incredibly friendly, professional and relaxed experience- very happy and would definitely come back and pay the full price-it’s worth it!!

Anytime Locksmiths London (Notting Hill, London, by Billyf111)

5 Points out of 5

I left my car keys in the ignition and the engine running and I stupidly shut the car door and locked them inside. Luckily I had my phone in my hand so I googled local locksmiths and called Anytime Locksmiths London and explained my situation. They had someone out to me within an hour of my call.Thank you.

Art-Deco (Notting Hill, London, by pietdebeer)

1 Points out of 5

I was shocked at how the proprietors treat customers. We were there on a busy Saturday and I can perhaps understand them wanting to minimise traffic (although not the way they did it), but we return on a quiet weekday and it was just as bad. Moreover, we found them to dishonest and very crude people.

Steer well clear.

Under the Westway (Notting Hill, London, by mahauer)

5 Points out of 5

I went there a few weeks before for a friend’s bday. Personnaly, I really enjoyed it. I had heard about the venue and its space (ceiling=the Westway) but had never experienced it as I’m more used to go out in East London.

When the place packed up, it turned into an amazing party, people dancing everywhere around sofas, at the bar, on the dancefloor. We were a group for a bday.
Music from House, Deeps house to chart pop bootlegs etc… Liked the mix.

The place also hosts nights with big djs where the opace is all dressed up in drapes, lights, projections. I might come West sometimes now::

Geales Restaurant (Notting Hill, London, by Solltys)

4 Points out of 5

Nice food, fresh fish, prices little bit high but still affordable. I’ve eating there dinner with my girlfriend and we were first guest and was too quiet. there was no other customers and no background music so we felt a bit awkward but apart of that service was ok and food even better.
