<p>If crate digging is your idea of heaven then Notting Hill has some great record shops for you to get those paws nice and dirty.</p>
<p>Head down Portobello Rd in you&#8217;ll come across a decent range of stores including the first <a href="http://www.roughtrade.com/">Rough Trade</a> shop, renown for some real lo-fi gems, punk and nu disco style tracks. <br />
<img src="http://www.nottinghillblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/rough-trade-notting-hill-300x215.jpg" alt="Rough Trade Notting Hill" title="Rough Trade Notting Hill" width="300" height="215" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-360" /></p>
<p> <a href="http://www.intoxica.co.uk/ ">Intoxica</a> is just around the corner, great for re-issues and obscure vinyl including punk, ska and soul. Just a bit further up the road, under the Westway you arrive at the legendary <a href="http://www.honestjons.com/shop.php">Honest Jon&#8217;s</a> where you can dig for the latest reggae, hip hop, soul, r&#8217;n'b mashed in with plenty of the middle and old school.<br />
<img src="http://www.nottinghillblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/dsc030951-294x300.jpg" alt="Honest Johns in Ladbroke Grove" title="Honest Johns in Ladbroke Grove" width="294" height="300" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-364" /><br />
If you&#8217;re after a slightly different record shop experience then you could do a lot worse than take a visit <a href="http://www.minuszerorecords.com/">Minus Zero</a>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-359" title="Minus Zero Records Notting Hill" src="http://www.nottinghillblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/minus-zero-records-notting-hill-300x246.jpg" alt="Minus Zero Records Notting Hill" width="300" height="246" /></p>
<p>It&#8217;s packed with lots of  sixties record obscurities and specializes in the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Psychedelia, Rock, Folk, Power Pop, Rare New Wave &amp; Punk, Alternative Country,  R.E.M and Americana.</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Kabel Md BT; color: #33ffff; font-size: large;"></span></p>
<p>That just about covers down-town Portobello, but before you pile out the door it&#8217;s worth also heading up-town too, towards Notting Hill Gate. Notting Hill Gate itself harbors the well known chain of second hand shops of which three of these shops serve up vinyl &amp; Cd&#8217;s. These are the Music and Video Exchange, Soul &amp; Dance Exchange and the Classical Music Exchange, all located with a minutes walk of each other. Some of the tunes are overpriced, but there is still a bargain or three to be bagged.<br />
<img src="http://www.nottinghillblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/soul-and-dance-exchange-225x300.jpg" alt="Soul &amp; Dance Exchange - Notting Hill Gate" title="Soul &amp; Dance Exchange - Notting Hill Gate" width="225" height="300" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-361" /></p>
<p>Happy Crate Digging.</p>
