I’m not sure if it started on Saturday or Sunday
Mid 50s. The school my ma was at used to have an International day where the kids from every area, West Indies, India etc would do a stall showing off their origins. After a couple of years it was so popular that the parents were helping and it became a big thing. However the school cancelled it becuase they felt exam results were going down. They then decided to have it as a street party away from school. So they did, the first one was near Brixton and everyone in Brixton joined in then year after year it got bigger and bigger until it was known as Notting Hill. Even though it didn’t start in Notting Hill put it was in the Notting Hill postal district.
I think now you know – I saw two ladies wearin bright costumes walking down my raod 20 min ago. walking to the train station. I’d say from now or at 1pm either way people like to get there early anyay.
Kids out and about.
